Our Principles

  1. Integrity in an organization is built by developing trust.
  2. Trust is the glue that enables a team to function well.
  3. Trust is built over time through competence, commitment, & care.
  4. Trust is built as we preserve and build the significance of others.
  5. Trust is built through bearing each others burdens.
  6. Trust is built through a rapid response to communication.
  7. Trust is built through humility.
  8. Trust is built through personal contact.
  9. Trust is diminished by sarcasm and criticism.
  10. Integrity means making and living up to commitments.
  11. Service begins with listening and ends with consistency.
  12. Leaders lead by serving their followers.
  13. Good stewardship of resources is a means of serving the team.
  14. Our growth as disciples is directly proportional to the growth in our love for one another.
  15. Our growth in love can be measured by our response to the most difficult relationships in our lives.
  16. Love is demonstrated through empathetic listening and extending grace.
  17. We prove ourselves disciples of Jesus through our actions each day.
  18. Passion, balance, and discipline are essential to the discipling process.
  19. Our faith pleases God.
  20. Achieving excellence is a function of continual improvement.
  21. God desires for us to be continually growing.
  22. People engage in the process of continual improvement by constantly asking, "How could this be better?"
  23. Failure is good if growth results.
  24. Harvest comes through sowing, watering, weeding, reaping.Positive attitudes are the lubrication in a team that make extraordinary things possible.
  25. Peak performance begins with high commitment.
  26. Training without accountability for results becomes an academic exercise.
  27. Learning comes through doing (role plays and hands-on practice) followed by reflection.
  28. By helping people develop a personal vision, we help them join God in what He is doing.
  29. Empowerment is the by-product of clear win-win agreements.
  30. Flexibility and innovation are the primary defenses against a rapidly changing world.
  31. God calls everyone to something.
  32. Ministry begins with the discovery and touching of a felt need.
  33. Seeking God's power to meet human needs is ministry.
  34. People are more important than tasks or things.
AIM Relationship Standards

Leaders
  • Leaders pray.
  • Leaders create an environment of trust.
  • Leaders are teachable and committed to growth.
  • Leaders are responsible for vision, plans, & empowerment.
  • Leaders understand their strengths & weaknesses.
  • Leaders focus on strengths and seek help where they're weak.
  • Leaders create an environment of trust and empowerment.
  • Leaders initiate and anticipate.
  • Leaders eliminate barriers to empowerment.
  • Leaders take care of their people.
Teams
  • Every staff member serves a team.
  • Every team knows and serves a set of stakeholders.
  • Every team should have a pitcher and catchers. Know which you are and don't confuse roles.
  • If you are a catcher, make yourself accountable to a pitcher.
  • We build an environment of trust, celebration, productivity, and faith.
  • Discover the team's weakness. Seek help in this area.
  • Always assess, "Where do I need cooperation to accomplish my goals?"
  • When you need cooperation, think win/win, mutual benefit.
  • Meetings should have a pre-defined purpose, process, & payoff.
Staff Relationships
  • Matt. 18 principle: Always go to the source of conflict before venting.
  • Lazarus principle: Nothing should stay "dead" more than four days.
  • Dialogue principle: Never say "no" outright. Ask "How?" or other questions first.
  • Look for ways to celebrate on a regular basis.
  • Accept one another unconditionally and bring praise to God.
  • Zingers & subtle sarcasm hurt. Avoid them.
  • Practice permission, protection, potency.
  • Focus efforts on your circle of influence.
  • Don't assume--verify first.
  • Listen more than you talk.
  • A positive attitude overcometh much.
Customers
  • An attitude of service undergirds our relationships with customers.
  • Constantly look for ways to give more than expected to customers.
  • Ask frequent questions to find out what customers want.
  • Return phone calls the day you get them. Show respect to all.
Training
  • 10% of staff time should be spent in devloping themselves professionally.
  • 50% of our equipping efforts involve practical application.
  • We measure change to validate training.
  • The training process: Explain, demonstrate, observe, confirm, correct, then repeat.
Supervision
  • Supervision begins with a personal mission statement translated to a win/win agreement.
  • Our staff are invested in this ministry, supervisors respect that investment & guard staff member's stake
  • Supervision begins with a clear definition of role and expectations.
  • Constantly seek to maximize the fit between individual strengths and role requirements.
  • Set high expectations, give high support.
  • Each staff member needs a personal vision, supervisors ensure momentum toward it.
  • Without faith it's impossible to please God, therefore leave God-room in everything you do.
  • A positive, hope-filled attitude should undergird all we do.
  • When something goes wrong in your scope of control, assume it's your fault and fix it.
  • Admit mistakes, apologize, fix problems.
  • Effective delegation is not natural, it must be taught.
  • Win/win agreements are essential for effective supervision.
Communication
  • We seek to build a high trust environment.
  • Prove yourself trustworthy before you expect trust.
  • Commitment to communication is displayed through same day turnaround on phone calls and emails.
  • Seek first to understand, then to be understood.
  • Overcommunicate by ensuring your audience feeds back to you your intended meaning.
Discipleship
  • Each new convert is either your responsibility or that of someone whom you trust.
  • Seek to disciple or mentor at least three others at any given time.
  • Help people listen to God, then discover the role that fits the call.
Excellence
  • To achieve excellence follow a four step process: evaluate, analyze, vision and plan.
  • Begin writing plans by developing specific goals and timelines.
  • Finish writing plans by defining resources, standards, systems, roles, and training.
